The unique design of the pneumatic expanding powder butterfly valve utilizes air pressure to extend the valve seat towards the valve disc, providing evenly distributed pressure for sealing at all times. Because the valve disc and seat only make momentary contact during opening and closing, the valve disc experiences only minimal impact. In contrast, conventional butterfly valves experience friction between the valve disc and seat, which reduces the valve's sealing performance and lifespan. In fact, opening and closing the pneumatic expanding powder butterfly valve requires very little torque. This allows for the use of smaller actuators, thus reducing the overall cost of the valve system.

Working Principle

1. Closed, unsealed state

When the valve is closed, the valve seat expands towards the valve disc, providing a larger sealing surface and reducing friction, wear, and torque requirements on the valve disc.

2. Closed, sealed state

When the valve is closed, the valve seat expands towards the valve disc, providing a larger sealing surface and ensuring even pressure distribution on the valve disc.

3. Open, unsealed state

Before opening the valve, the valve seat first vents and contracts, then the valve disc rotates freely to the open position.
